# AI prompt generator

Canonical URL: https://luckpanda.app/chatbot/tools/ai-prompt-generator
Language: en
Updated October 14, 2026

Say what you want the AI to do, who the answer is for and the facts it needs. You get one structured prompt to paste into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, or standing instructions for an AI chat agent on your website.

Free tool: https://luckpanda.app/chatbot/tools/ai-prompt-generator (generator, chatbot-setup)

Agents: run it over MCP (https://luckpanda.app/mcp) with chatbot_public_tool_run { "tool": "ai-prompt-generator", "lang": "en", "inputs": { … } }; chatbot_public_tool_list gives the inputs.

**Example:**

```text
Role
You are a customer experience analyst for a small online tea shop.
Task
Read this month’s customer reviews and write a short report: the three most common complaints and what the team should fix first.
Context
- The shop sells tea online and ships from one warehouse.
- The reviews come from our website and Google: [paste the reviews here].
- The report is for the owner and the two people who pack orders.
Rules
- Count how often each complaint appears and rank the complaints by that count.
- Quote one short line from a review as an example for each complaint.
- Leave praise out unless it explains a complaint.
- Say when you are not sure; do not make up facts, numbers or sources.
Output
A list of three complaints, most common first. For each: the complaint in one line, how many reviews mention it, one example quote and one concrete fix. Under 250 words, in plain language.
Before you answer
- If the reviews are not pasted, ask for them.
- If a complaint is about something outside the shop’s control, such as the courier, ask whether to include it.
```

## What makes a good AI prompt

> A good AI prompt tells the assistant five things: who it should act as (role), the job (task), the facts it needs (context), what to do and avoid (rules), and the shape of the answer (output). Specific beats long. Give real facts instead of asking the AI to guess, ask it to say when it is not sure, and name the format and length you want.

1. **Choose the kind.** One task, such as an email, a summary or a plan. Or a chat agent’s instructions: the standing rules for an AI agent that talks to your customers.
2. **Describe the goal.** One or two sentences in your own words: what the AI should produce or do.
3. **Add the audience and the facts.** Who reads the answer, and the facts the AI must use: names, prices, policies. Anything you leave out becomes a [square-bracket] slot to fill.
4. **Pick a format and copy.** A list, steps, an email, a table, a short answer, or let the tool choose. Fill the slots, paste the prompt into your AI tool, and adjust it after the first answer.

## Prompt structure: role, task, context, rules, output

Most weak prompts are one line long. Here is the same request, part by part, before and after.

| Part | Weak | Better |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Role | Nothing, or "You are an expert." | "You are the customer service lead at a small online furniture shop." |
| Task | "Write about the delay." | "Write an email telling customers their sofa order will ship 10 days late." |
| Context | Nothing. | "Orders placed March 1 to 7 are affected. New ship date: [date]. Customers can cancel for a full refund." |
| Rules | "Be professional." | "Apologize once. Do not blame the supplier. Do not promise a delivery date that is not given above." |
| Output | Nothing. | "Plain text, a subject line and under 150 words." |

OpenAI’s and Anthropic’s prompting guides both recommend this kind of structure: say who the assistant is, give clear instructions and the context it needs, and show the format you want. Anthropic’s guide adds that explaining why a rule matters helps the model apply it sensibly, so "keep it short, customers read it on a phone" works better than "keep it short".

## Task prompt example

Copy it, then replace the [square-bracket] slots with your own facts.

**Task prompt: a reply to a late-order complaint**

```text
Role
You are a customer service agent for [shop name], an online shop that sells [products].
Task
Write a reply to the customer message below. They are upset that their order is late.
Context
- Order number: [order number]
- New delivery date: [date]
- Our policy: [refund or cancellation policy]
- Customer message: [paste the message]
Rules
- Apologize once, then give the new date and their options.
- Do not promise anything that is not in the context.
- Say when you are not sure; do not make up facts.
Output
An email under 120 words, plain text, friendly and direct.
Before you answer
If the new delivery date is missing, ask me for it.
```

## Agent instructions: a worked example

The chat agent kind writes standing instructions, also called a system prompt: the rules an AI chat agent follows in every conversation, not just one answer.

**Instructions for a support agent on a dental clinic website**

```text
Who you are
You are the website assistant for [clinic name], a dental clinic in [city].
Who you talk to
Patients and people looking for a dentist, often worried about pain or cost.
What you help with
Opening hours, treatments, booking, insurance questions and directions.
How you answer
Short replies of two to four sentences, calm and kind, in the visitor’s language.
Use only these sources
The clinic’s own pages and documents. Never invent prices, policies or links. If the sources do not answer, say so.
When to hand over to a person
Pain or swelling today, complaints, billing disputes, or when the visitor asks for a person.
Never do
Ask for card numbers or passwords, promise appointment times that are not confirmed, or give medical advice.
```

## Common prompt mistakes

- Asking the AI to guess facts. If the prompt does not give the price or the date, the answer may invent one.
- Generic filler such as "be helpful and accurate". It changes nothing. Say what a good answer looks like.
- No format. Say "a table with three columns" or "under 80 words", or you get whatever comes.
- Too many jobs in one prompt. Split a report, an email and a social post into three prompts.
- Using the first answer as it is. Read it, then tell the AI what to change.

## Put your agent instructions to work on your website

The chat agent kind writes the kind of text a LuckPanda agent’s Instructions field takes: who the agent is and what it should know.

A LuckPanda support agent answers visitors on your website from your own pages and documents. Paste your instructions into its Goal settings and try them in the preview beside the settings. LuckPanda adds its own safety rules on top: visitor text is treated as untrusted, the instructions are never revealed, prices, features and policies are never invented, and the agent says so when your sources have nothing.

## Questions people ask

### What is an AI prompt generator?

A tool that turns a short description of what you want into a structured prompt for an AI assistant: the role, the task, the facts, the rules and the format of the answer. You copy it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or a similar tool.

### How do I write a good ChatGPT prompt?

Say who the AI should act as, what the job is, which facts to use, what to avoid and what format you want. Give the real facts instead of letting it guess, and ask it to say when it is not sure.

### What is the difference between a prompt and a system prompt?

A prompt asks for one answer. A system prompt, or instructions, sets standing rules an AI chat agent follows in every conversation: who it is, what it helps with, which sources to use and when to hand over to a person.

### Do these prompts work in Claude and Gemini too?

Yes. The prompt is plain text with labelled parts, so you can paste it into any chat assistant. Check the first answer and adjust the rules if needed.

### Is the prompt generator free?

Yes, and you do not need an account. Each network can run it a limited number of times per hour and per day.
