Agents: run it over MCP (https://luckpanda.app/mcp) with chatbot_public_tool_run { "tool": "instagram-auto-reply-generator", "lang": "en", "inputs": { … } }; chatbot_public_tool_list gives the inputs.

**Example:**

```text
Hi, thanks for messaging Lumen Studio. I can help with our handmade mugs and plates, custom names, or delivery. Browse everything at lumenstudio.example/shop. What are you looking for today?
---
Thanks for getting in touch with Lumen Studio. Ask me about our mugs and plates, adding a custom name, or shipping times. Is it for you or a gift?
---
Hi from Lumen Studio. Looking for a mug, a plate, or something with a name on it? Tell me what you have in mind and I will point you to the right piece.
## What an Instagram auto reply should say
> An Instagram auto reply is a message sent automatically when someone DMs your business, comments on a post, or writes outside your hours. A good one thanks them, answers or offers two or three things they can ask, and ends with one question that moves them towards buying or booking. Keep DMs under 300 characters, comment replies under 150, and never put prices or personal details in a public comment.
1. **Pick the reply you need.** Welcome for a first DM, FAQ for a question people ask again and again, Comment to DM for public comments, Away for messages outside your hours.
2. **Describe your business.** What you sell and who for, in one line. For an FAQ answer, add the question people ask.
3. **Add the facts and one link.** Delivery times, sizes, how to book. Only the facts you type are used; anything missing becomes a [square-bracket] slot.
4. **Copy it into your automation.** Pick one of the three versions, fill any slots, and paste it into Instagram's or Meta's own messaging tools, or the automation app you use.
## The four auto replies most businesses need
| Reply | When it is sent | Its job | Length |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Welcome | Someone messages you for the first time | Thank them, offer two or three topics, ask one question | Under 300 characters |
| FAQ answer | Someone asks a common question | Answer from your facts, then one question towards a sale or booking | Under 300 characters |
| Comment to DM | Someone comments on a post or reel | Invite them to a direct message, publicly and briefly | Under 150 characters |
| Away | A message arrives outside your hours | Say when a person will answer | Under 300 characters |
The same texts work for Facebook Messenger. If you run both accounts, use the same wording on each so customers get the same answer wherever they ask.
## Instagram welcome message examples
A welcome message is the first thing a new customer reads from you. Offer a short menu of what they can ask, then one question.
**Online shop**
```text
Hi, thanks for messaging [shop name]. I can help with sizes, delivery or an order you already placed. What are you looking for today?
```
**Salon or studio**
```text
Thanks for getting in touch with [studio name]. Are you looking to book, check prices, or ask about a treatment? Tell me which and I will point you the right way.
```
**Coach or consultant**
```text
Thanks for your message. I work with [who you help] on [what you help with]. What would you most like help with right now?
```
## Instagram DM auto reply examples for common questions
Answer the question first, then ask one question back. That keeps the conversation going instead of ending it.
**"How much is it?"**
```text
Thanks for asking. [Product] is [price], and you can see every option at [link]. Is it for you or a gift?
```
**"Do you ship to my country?"**
```text
We ship to [countries or regions]. Delivery takes [delivery time], and the cost shows at checkout. Where would it be going?
```
**"Do you have this in my size?"**
```text
Our size guide is at [link]. If you tell me your usual size in [brand or measurement], I can check which one fits best.
```
**"How do I book?"**
```text
You can book online at [booking link], and you will see the open times there. Which day works best for you?
```
## Comment-to-DM reply examples
A comment reply is public, so keep it short and friendly, and move the details to a private message. Never post prices, order numbers or personal details in a comment.
**Public reply to "Price?"**
```text
Thanks for asking. We just sent you a DM with the details.
```
**Public reply to "Do you ship to me?"**
```text
Good question. Check your DMs, we have sent you the delivery details.
```
**Public reply to a complaint**
```text
Sorry to hear this. Please send us a DM with your order number so we can sort it out.
```
A complaint is a reason for a person to reply. Use this text, then have someone follow up.
**The DM that follows**
```text
Hi, thanks for your comment on our [post topic] post. [Answer to their question]. Want me to send you the link?
```
## Instagram away message examples
**Evenings and weekends**
```text
Thanks for your message. We answer DMs [days], [opening time] to [closing time], and will get back to you then. You can shop any time at [link].
```
**Holiday closure**
```text
Thanks for writing. We are away until [return date] and will reply when we are back. Orders placed now ship from [shipping date].
```
## Examples by business type
| Business | What people DM about | A reply that moves them forward |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Clothing store | Sizes, stock, delivery | "Which size do you usually wear? I can check it is in stock." |
| Restaurant or cafe | Opening hours, bookings, the menu | "We are open [hours]. Would you like to book a table?" |
| Beauty salon | Prices, open times, treatments | "Our prices are at [link]. Which treatment are you thinking of?" |
| Fitness studio | Classes, beginners, a first visit | "Our beginner classes are on [days]. Have you trained before?" |
| Online course | What is included, who it is for | "It covers [topics]. What would you most like to learn?" |
| Local services | Areas covered, quotes | "We cover [areas]. What is the job, and when do you need it?" |
## Setting it up: what this tool does and what Instagram does
This tool writes the text. It does not connect to your Instagram account or send anything.
To send replies automatically, use the messaging tools Meta provides for business and creator accounts, or an automation app that works with Instagram and Messenger. These tools usually let you set a welcome message, saved replies for frequent questions, and an away message. The options and where to find them change from time to time, so check Meta's own help pages for your account type.
- Write each reply here, then paste it into the tool you use.
- Test it by messaging your account from a second one.
- Read automated conversations each day at first, and fix replies that confuse people.
- Keep a person on hand for complaints, refunds and anything sensitive.
## Rules that keep auto replies safe and useful
- Never ask for passwords, card numbers or one-time codes in a DM.
- No prices or personal details in public comment replies.
- Answer first, then ask one question. Not three.
- Do not pretend an automatic reply is a person typing live.
- Give one link at most, and make sure it opens on a phone.
- Use your real facts only. A wrong delivery time costs more than a slow reply.
## Common mistakes
- A welcome message that is a wall of text. People read DMs on a phone.
- Replying "check your DMs" and then sending nothing useful in the DM.
- Sending a link before answering the question.
- An away message with no time. "We will reply soon" means nothing at 11 p.m.
- Using the same canned text for a complaint as for a sales question.
## Where your Instagram visitors land: your website
Many people who DM you also tap the link in your bio. On your website, they can get answers and buy without waiting for a reply.
A LuckPanda sales agent works in a chat on your website, not inside Instagram. It answers from your own pages, asks a short question or two about what the visitor needs, recommends one product or page with a link, and saves the visitor's details as a lead when they want to be contacted.
*A visitor arrives from an Instagram bio link*
Visitor: Saw your mugs on Instagram. Do you do custom names?
Chatbot: Yes. Custom names are available on the classic mug, and the shop page lists the fonts and colors. Is it a gift?
Visitor: Yes, for my sister's birthday next month.
Chatbot: Then the classic mug with a name is a good fit, and custom orders take about three weeks, as our delivery page says. Here is the page to order it. _(Link: Classic mug, custom name)_
## Questions people ask
### How do I set up an auto reply on Instagram?
Use a business or creator account and the messaging tools Meta provides, or an automation app that works with Instagram. Write the replies first, here or by hand, then paste them in. The exact settings change over time, so follow Meta's help pages for your account.
### Can you auto reply to Instagram comments?
Yes, with automation tools that support comments. Keep the public reply short and move details to a DM. Never post prices or personal details in a comment.
### What should an Instagram welcome message say?
Thank the person, offer two or three things they can ask about, and end with one question. Keep it under 300 characters so it reads well on a phone.
### Do the same replies work on Facebook Messenger?
Yes. Welcome messages, FAQ answers and away messages work the same way on Messenger. Using the same wording keeps your answers consistent.
### Does this tool send messages on Instagram for me?
No. It writes the text only and does not connect to your account. You paste the reply into Instagram's or Meta's tools, or into the automation app you use.
