Keeping rental records
US landlords report rental income and expenses on Schedule E. A receipt for every payment, matched to the lease and your bank deposits, makes that straightforward and supports you if a tenant disputes a payment or a deposit deduction. For India, where tenants use rent receipts for an HRA claim, use the rent receipt generator.
