Objection handling generator

Choose the objection, say what you sell and what proof you have, and get three responses to use in a chat, on a call or by email. Each takes a different approach, without pressure tactics.

Their own words give better responses.

Only what you enter here is used as proof.

Where are you answering?
ResultExample
Version 1
Find the real concern: I hear you, and budget for this quarter is a real limit. Can I ask whether it is the total cost, or paying it now rather than later? If timing is the issue, monthly billing spreads it out. Which is it for you?
Version 2
Reframe on value: That is fair. Think about how many appointment calls your front desk takes each week, since online booking is built to cut those. If that time went back to patients, would the monthly plan pay for itself?
Version 3
Lower the risk: Totally understandable. You could try it free for 14 days with one location before spending anything. Would a trial this month help you decide before next quarter's budget?

What objection handling is

Objection handling is how you respond when a prospect gives a reason not to buy, such as price, timing or a competitor. The reliable method has four steps: acknowledge the concern, ask a question to find what is really behind it, answer that real concern with facts, and confirm it is resolved. The goal is a clear decision, yes or no, not winning an argument.

  1. Choose the objectionPrice, timing, a competitor, no need, trust, needing someone else's approval, or something else.
  2. Paste what they saidTheir exact words help. "It's more than we budgeted" and "it's too expensive" are different problems.
  3. Say what you sell and your proofThe responses use only the value and proof you give: results, a trial, a guarantee. Nothing is made up.
  4. Pick the channel and copyChat, call or email. A call version is written as spoken words. Choose the approach that fits and say it in your own voice.

The framework: acknowledge, ask, answer, confirm

Many named objection handling methods follow these four steps. They work because they treat the objection as information, not as an attack.

StepWhat you doWhat it can sound like
AcknowledgeShow you heard the concern, without agreeing or arguing."That makes sense. Budget is a real limit."
AskFind the real concern behind the words."Is it the total cost, or the timing of the payment?"
AnswerRespond to that concern with facts you can stand behind."Most teams start on the monthly plan, so the cost is spread out."
ConfirmCheck that the answer helped, and agree a next step."Does that solve the budget question, or is something else holding you back?"

The step people skip is asking. "Too expensive" can mean no budget this quarter, not seeing enough value, comparing with a cheaper option, or not being the one who decides. Each needs a different answer.

The three approaches this generator writes

Find the real concern

  • Acknowledge the objection.
  • Ask one question to uncover what is behind it.
  • Answer that, not the surface words.
  • Best when you are not sure what they mean.

Reframe on value

  • Compare the cost with the cost of the problem.
  • Uses only the value and proof you entered.
  • Best when they have not seen the payoff yet.
  • Never inflates results.

Lower the risk

  • Offer a smaller next step.
  • A trial, a sample, a short call or a pilot.
  • Best for trust and timing objections.
  • Makes saying yes easier, not forced.

Objection handling examples by type

For each common objection: what it often means, a question that finds out, and an example response. Replace the [square-bracket] slots with your own facts.

ObjectionWhat it often meansA question to ask
Price: "It's too expensive."No budget now, the value is unclear, or a cheaper option is on the table."Compared with what you expected, or with another option?"
Timing: "Not right now."Other priorities, a busy season, or a polite no."What would need to change for this to be the right time?"
Competitor: "We already use X."Switching feels risky, or they are mostly happy."What do you like about it, and what would you change?"
Need: "We don't need this."They do not see the problem, or they solve it another way."How do you handle [problem] today?"
Trust: "Not sure it works."Fear of wasting money or looking bad for choosing it."What would you need to see to feel sure?"
Authority: "I need to ask my boss."They are not the decision-maker, or they need help selling it inside."What will they want to know? I can help you put it together."

How to handle price objections

Price objections are common, and easy to handle badly. Do not lead with a discount. First find out which price problem it is.

A price objection in a website chat

This is more than we wanted to spend.
That is fair, and budget matters. Is it the total cost that is the problem, or paying it all at once?
Mostly paying it all at once.
Then the monthly plan may suit you better. It is [monthly price] a month and you can cancel any time. Would you like the link to compare the two plans?
Price objection on a call
I understand, and I would rather you spend wisely than quickly. Can I ask what you are comparing it with? If it is another product, I can show you the difference. If it is the budget this quarter, there may be a smaller way to start.
Price objection by email
Thanks for being direct about the price. You mentioned [problem] is costing your team [time or money they mentioned]. [Product] is built to fix that, and [proof you have]. If it helps, we could start with [smaller option] and decide on the rest once you see results. Would that work for you?

Examples for timing, competitor, need, trust and authority

Timing: "Not right now"
That is fair. Can I ask what is taking priority at the moment? If it makes sense, I can check back in [time frame], or send a short summary now so you have it when the time is right.
Competitor: "We already use [competitor]"
Good to know, and if it works well for you, there is no reason to change. What is one thing you wish it did better? If that is something we do differently, I can show you. If not, I will not waste your time.
Need: "We don't need this"
You may be right. How does your team handle [problem] today? If it is working, great. If it takes more time than it should, that is where [product] usually helps.
Trust: "Not sure it will work for us"
That is a reasonable worry. What would you need to see to feel confident? We could start with [trial or pilot] on one small part of your work, so you can judge it on your own results.
Authority: "I need to ask my manager"
Of course. What do you think they will ask first? I can send a one-page summary with [the main points], or join a short call with both of you, whichever is easier.

By channel: chat, call and email

ChannelHow to adaptWatch out for
Website chatTwo or three short sentences, one question, a link to the next step.Long paragraphs. People leave a chat they have to scroll.
CallSpoken words, a pause after your question, let them talk.Talking over them, or answering before you know the real concern.
EmailRefer back to what they told you, one clear next step.Attaching everything. One link or one offer is enough.

What not to do

Pressure may win a sale today and lose a customer, a refund and a review later. The generator is told to leave these tactics out, and you should too.

  • False urgency: "This price ends tonight" when it does not.
  • Fake scarcity: "Only two places left" when there are more.
  • Guilt or fear: making the prospect feel foolish for hesitating.
  • Arguing: proving them wrong closes the conversation, not the sale.
  • Running down a competitor. Say what you do differently instead.
  • Discounting by reflex. It teaches people that the first price is not real.
  • Ignoring a clear no. Thank them, and leave the door open.

Sometimes the honest answer is that your product is not the right fit. Saying so builds trust, and people remember it when their needs change.

How an AI sales agent handles objections on your website

Many objections come up in a website chat, before anyone talks to sales: "Is it worth it?", "How is this different from X?", "Can I try it first?".

A LuckPanda sales agent answers those questions from your own pages. It asks at most two or three short questions to understand what the visitor needs, recommends one next step with a link, such as a trial, a demo or a product page, and saves the visitor as a lead when they leave their email or phone and show they want to buy. It never invents prices, features or offers that are not on your pages.

Questions people ask

What is objection handling in sales?

It is how you respond when a prospect gives a reason not to buy. Good objection handling finds the real concern behind the words and answers it honestly, so the prospect can make a clear decision.

How do you handle price objections?

Acknowledge the concern, then ask whether it is the total cost, the timing of payment, or a comparison with another option. Answer that specific concern. Offer a smaller start before you offer a discount.

What are the most common sales objections?

Price, timing, a competitor they already use, not seeing a need, not trusting that it will work, and needing someone else to approve the purchase.

How do you respond to "I need to think about it"?

Ask what they want to think through, without pushing. It often hides a specific worry, such as price or approval. If they need time, agree a date to follow up.

Should you offer a discount when a customer says it is too expensive?

Not first. Find out why it feels expensive. A discount does not help if the real problem is unclear value or a missing approval, and it lowers what your product seems worth.

For AI agents

Build it with your AI agent

Give an agent your site and it can create the chatbot, read your pages and test it through LuckPanda's API and MCP. It prepares the work; going live stays with you.

Use LuckPanda's MCP server (https://luckpanda.app/mcp) to build a website chatbot for me. Ask for my website address, call chatbot_create_from_website with it, wait until the pages are learned (chatbot_source_list), then run a few test questions with chatbot_test_message and show me the answers. Do not put it live: I will do that myself.

Instructions for AI agents

Needs a LuckPanda agent key (Settings › Developers) with the chatbot.manage grant. MCP endpoint: https://luckpanda.app/mcp (Streamable HTTP, bearer key).

  • chatbot_create_from_website { url }: creates a draft chatbot named after the site and starts reading it.
  • chatbot_source_list: pages learned, failed or skipped, with a reason for each.
  • chatbot_test_message: asks the bot a question as the owner. Test chats never email anyone.
  • Going live (chatbot_update with status live) is a person's action; an agent gets APPROVAL_REQUIRED.
