Chatbot use case

Answer the enquiries that arrive after you close

People compare options in the evening, after work. A chatbot built from your site answers what your pages cover, tells the visitor when your team is back, and saves their number, so the first call tomorrow is to someone who already asked.

No account needed to try it. We read the public pages of your site, build the chatbot in about a minute and delete it after 7 days unless you keep it.

  • Answers at any hour from your pages
  • Tells visitors when a person will reply
  • One list to work through each morning
One night

From 11:40 pm to the first call next morning

WhenWhat happens
11:40 pmA visitor asks what it costs to move a 2BHK across town. Your office closed at 7 pm.
11:40 pmThe bot answers with the range on your rates page, and says an exact price needs a survey.
11:42 pmThe visitor leaves a name and phone number. The lead is saved in your CRM with a follow-up task, and the chat is handed to a person.
11:42 pmIf you turned on alerts, a Lead received email and a visitor-waiting email go to the addresses you chose.
9:30 amYou open Chatbot, choose Waiting for a person, read the chat and call back.

The times are an example. Emails go out when the event happens, so choose recipients who will not mind a message at night.

Business hours

Tell the bot when your team is in

Hours change what the bot says about people. They do not switch the bot off.

  • Choose the days, an opening and closing time, and a time zone such as Asia/Kolkata
  • Outside hours, the chat window shows your hours under its title, where it would otherwise say it typically replies in a few seconds
  • An optional offline message, in your own words, appears at the top of the chat
  • When the bot hands a chat over outside hours, it tells the visitor a person will reply when the team is back

Every day you pick shares one opening and one closing time, and the closing time must be later than the opening time. A shorter Saturday, or hours that run past midnight, cannot be set yet.

Sample conversation

What the visitor sees at night

Sample conversation on a fictional Bengaluru packers and movers website. Hours: Mon–Sat 09:30–19:00

How much to shift a 2BHK from Whitefield to HSR Layout next Saturday?
For a 2BHK moving within Bengaluru, our rates page lists ₹12,000 to ₹18,000, depending on the floor, lift access and packing. The exact price needs a short survey.

Can someone confirm tonight?
The team is offline now. They work Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 7 pm. If you leave your name and phone number, a person will call you when they are back to fix a survey time.

Thank you, Arjun. I have saved your details and passed this chat to the team.

Handed to a person: survey for a 2BHK move next Saturday

The bot did not promise a survey slot or a final price. It gave the range from the page, said when people are back and left the rest to the team.

The next morning

Work through the night's chats in one list

  1. Open Waiting for a personIt lists chats handed to a person where the visitor spoke last. The LuckPanda home page shows how many are waiting.
  2. Read before you callThe transcript, the page they were on, the lead summary and their answers are on one screen.
  3. Call, or reply in the chatUse the details they left, or take over the chat and reply as your business. The bot stays quiet while you have it.
  4. Close itClose the chat when it is done, so the list only holds what still needs someone.

A visitor who ends the chat from the window menu moves it to Closed. Check the Has lead filter as well, so nobody who left a number is missed.

Limits

What it does not do at night

  • It does not call, text or message the visitor back. A person does that, from the details the visitor left.
  • It does not book a time in your calendar or confirm an appointment.
  • It answers only from your pages, documents and answers, so the night shift is only as good as what is written down.
  • It saves a lead only when the visitor gives an email or phone number.

Questions

Does the bot stop answering when we are closed?

No. It answers at every hour. Business hours only change what it says about people: outside them it tells the visitor when the team is back, and the window shows your hours.

Will I get an email at 2 am?

Only if you turn alerts on. Lead received and visitor-waiting emails are sent when the event happens, at any hour. Pick recipients who read email in the morning, or rely on the Waiting for a person list.

Can I set different hours for Saturday?

Not yet. The days you pick share one opening and one closing time, and the closing time must be later than the opening time on the same day.

What if a visitor wants a person right now?

The bot hands the chat over and says a person will reply when the team is back. If someone on your team is around, they can take over the chat at any time, even outside the hours you set.

Does this work with the customer support goal?

Yes. With customer support, the bot saves a lead only when the visitor wants to be contacted or shows buying intent. With lead generation, it asks for contact details early. Hours work the same way with both.

For AI agents

Build it with your AI agent

Give an agent your site and it can create the chatbot, read your pages and test it through LuckPanda's API and MCP. It prepares the work; going live stays with you.

Use LuckPanda's MCP server (https://luckpanda.app/mcp) to build a website chatbot for me. Ask for my website address, call chatbot_create_from_website with it, wait until the pages are learned (chatbot_source_list), then run a few test questions with chatbot_test_message and show me the answers. Do not put it live: I will do that myself.

Instructions for AI agents

Needs a LuckPanda agent key (Settings › Developers) with the chatbot.manage grant. MCP endpoint: https://luckpanda.app/mcp (Streamable HTTP, bearer key).

  • chatbot_create_from_website { url }: creates a draft chatbot named after the site and starts reading it.
  • chatbot_source_list: pages learned, failed or skipped, with a reason for each.
  • chatbot_test_message: asks the bot a question as the owner. Test chats never email anyone.
  • Going live (chatbot_update with status live) is a person's action; an agent gets APPROVAL_REQUIRED.

See it on your own website

Paste your address and watch the chatbot learn your pages. No account and no card.
